Contract Enquiry Error Codes Guide

Contract Enquiry (CE), also known as "online, real-time Valuations", is a service that is available through certain back office systems (to go The Matrix to find out which ones)  Essentially, when the financial adviser requests a policy value, they can press a button within their back office system.  This action sends a request to a product provider's system, which if all the details (like security and policy number) are correct, will return the policy value within seconds.

Unfortunately, online valuation requests can sometimes fail and the reasons for this have been identified by Origo - the eCommerce standards body for the UK financial services industry.  When a request fails, an error message will be returned, often accompanied by an error code.
